Design Notes

This composite is a chemical switch that induces the express of EGFP and makes the bacteria to show fluorescence when accepts a specific chemical . It uses quorum sensing method. CinR is an autoinducer binding protein found in Rhizobium leguminosarumis. In complex with O3-C14 HSL, which is synthesized by the inducer CinI, CinR protein activates transcription of genes downstream the pCin promoter. Thus, when the bacteria accept this chemical signal and activate the pCin promoter, the downstream EGFP will express.
